First Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa seeks a dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated person to care for our church building and grounds. The Custodian will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship, ministry programs, and community events in our recently renovated and expanded facility.

In this role, you will oversee daily cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds, prepare spaces for worship services and events, coordinate with contractors on building systems including HVAC, elevator, and fire safety, and manage seasonal tasks such as snow removal and lawn care. You will work collaboratively with pastoral and program staff to ensure the building is ready and
welcoming for all who enter.

First Lutheran is a welcoming community of about 400 households. Since 2016, we have been a Reconciling in Christ congregation, fully supporting LGBTQ+ people and their families.

This is an hourly position at $18–19/hour, 32–40 hours per week depending on seasonal needs. Our generous and competitive compensation package includes health, dental, and retirement benefits, and vacation.
